Arsenal Target Pedro

Arsenal Target Pedro

According to reports in Spain, Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of Barcelona and Spain winger, Pedro. The north London club have already made initial contact with the player’s representatives and are set to consider their options.

Pedro has had a lot of speculation surrounding his future recently, with the Spaniard finding it increasingly hard to play a first team role in the squad. It is thought that the winger wants to leave the Nou Camp in order to gain more first team football, despite him having signed a new contract that expires in 2019 at the start of June.

The new contract is believed to have a buy-out clause in at £110 million, a fee which is usually not met. The club could allow Pedro to leave for less, should he formally hand in a transfer request.

Pedro endured a difficult season last term with his lack of appearances, yet he impressed in front of goal netting an impressive 11.

Although Pedro’s time at Barcelona may be up, there is still no reason to doubt the Spaniard’s ability, even with his lack of appearances for the Catalan side. Although his figures last season may be a far-cry from the once 20+ goals-a-season winger we all saw in 2010/11, there’s no doubt that Pedro can still perform at any level.

Pedro, a World Cup and Champions League winner, is someone who has the caliber of a world class player who could walk into almost any top European side. Arsenal would be doing well to secure Pedro, however with strong competition from both Liverpool and PSG, it won’t be easy. There is no fee reported in the Pedro reports, but around £30 million would probably be close to the mark.

At 27, Pedro has won 18 titles during his time in Catalonia. He would certainly bolster Arsenal’s front line which they are keen on investing in.
