Arsenal Target Napoli Midfielder

Arsenal Target Napoli Midfielder

It`s hard to tell if Arsenal will start any negotiations this Winter. Wenger’s transfer strategy is well-known and despite spending big the past couple of summers, the January transfer window still remains a question. No one except the Frenchman knows if any bids will be made and what kind of targets might he have in mind. One thing is for sure though – Arsenal will never pay £600,000-a-week for a player as recently speculated, regardless of his name (Messi is the only one capable of earning such a salary). They might consider paying around 10% of that to Brazilian born Italy international Jorginho. The 23-year-old midfielder looks like he could fit in well at the Emirates and that he could make a good duo with Coquelin. He would also be a good backup for the player who is currently the only defensive midfielder Wenger can really count on especially during important games.

Jorginho has grown a lot since joining Napoli. His transfer from Verona done back in January 2014 really helped him improve his skills and grow into one of the most sought-after players in his position. Currently the U21 Italy international has been on an 11 game streak for his club and has shown consistency and maturity. He is valued at about £8million which sounds reasonable given the promising future this player is expected to have. The problem with his transfer is that he is represented by an agent who has little to no connection to the Premier League. He is very well settled on the Spanish and Italian market which could make this transfer just another rumor. One thing is for sure though, sooner or later, Wenger will have to start negotiations for a defensive midfielder to replace Flamini and Arteta who will very likely part ways with Arsenal pretty soon.
