Arsenal Target Busquets

Arsenal Target Busquets

Arsenal are ready to enquire about one of the finest midfielders around, according to reports. The Gunners are said to be readying a bid of around £40m for the 27-year-old, and are willing to give the Spaniard a big contract offer.

To sign such a player from Barcelona won’t come easy, and although many would be left skeptical about the rumour, it seems there is at least a small possibility the move could go ahead due to Barcelona’s reported interest in Aaron Ramsey.

The Gunners have been linked with a shock deal for Barcelona enforcer Busquets all week, with Spanish publication Sport saying Arsene Wenger had personally asked for his signature. But the move looked extremely unlikely until the latest round of reports stated that Ramsey could be used as part of the move.

Clearly Arsenal would not want the Welshman to leave the club, but if Barcelona tabled a big sufficient enough, who’s to say what could happen. On the other hand, if Barcelona do allow Busquet’s to leave, it would mean the Gunners forking out over £40 million and a big contract in order to secure the player.

Busquets is believed to currently earn £120,000-a-week at Barcelona, but is said to be trying to win a new deal at the club with a much higher income.

Arsenal’s interest in Busquets is surely strong enough to put his wage demands to the test, the Spaniard would expect to earn at least £150k a week if he moved from Barcelona this summer.

As of now, the whole story is purely speculation. But who’s to say things won’t change.
