Arsenal Star To Sign New Deal?

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has hinted that he would like to stay put at the club for the foreseeable future and put pen to paper on a new deal. The 27-year-old’s contract has 2 years remaining, and there has been talk about whether or not the player is willing to commit long-term.

The German international has been one of Arsenal’s best players since joining from Real Madrid, sparking transfer speculation over a potential move away from north London. However, despite many Arsenal fans’ worries, Ozil has suggested his journey in England has only just begun.

Interviewed on the official Arsenal website, Ozil hinted he is open to staying in England.

“I’m the sort of person who can integrate quickly. I’m a normal person and people who know me know that I’m quiet and just like doing my thing. That was the case here, with the Germany national team and in my youth. I was and still am very open when I meet people. It was like that at Arsenal too. I lived in Spain and got to know the wonderful culture and people there. Now I’m in England, where I’m learning the language and the culture. I’m proud of that.”

Before the end of the season, news outlets suggested that Ozil would be offered a new deal after the Euro’s. It remains to be seen what plans Wenger has for the play maker.
