Arsenal Set To Lose Costa Rican Starlet

Arsenal are set to lose Joel Campbell if he continues to be left out of the first team, as the striker will be looking to build on his form for the Costa Rican national team over the summer and secure a move away from the London based club as he has been left without a way to win a place in the starting eleven, according to the Mirror.

The Gunners faced Anderlecht in the Champions League group stage, and took a 3-goal lead before conceding three late goals from the Belgian side. This has left the club uncertain about their qualification for the next round as they face Borussia Dortmund next in Germany. Wenger will be pleased at the impact of Alexis Sanchez in the first team, and the Chilean has been one of the clubs most outstanding contributing players over the last month. With Theo Walcott returning from injury, there will certainly be no place for Lukas Podolski and Campbell, both trying to win a spot in Wengers squads.

Campbell began his career with Saprissa, and was signed on a permanent deal in 2009. The 22-year old had a loan spell at Puntarenas before the Arsenal scouts declared concrete interest in the player. Wenger approved the decision of the scouts, and Campbell was signed on a permanent deal in 2011. Campbell had spells at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos where he improved his game dramatically but since Arsenal got knocked out of the Capital One Cup he has been left without a way of playing for the 1st team and having the opportunity to impress the manager to get more playing time.
