Arsenal Receive Transfer Boost From Marseille

Wenger is in luck as Marseille announced their willingness to sell 22-year-old Michy Batshuayi. The youngster has had an amazing season for the French side and is now set on impressing the audiences while representing his home country. He seems like the perfect fit for Arsenal who desperately need someone to score more than 20 goals in one season. The Gunners need that extra edge given to major clubs by strikers like Aguero or Kane.

The Belgium international should be on top of the transfer list for this summer, regardless of how much Marseille ask. It should not be an outrageous amount as the French side are in deep financial trouble which is also time sensitive. Out of all the possible transfers Wenger could make to boost the attack and help replace Welbeck, Batshuayi is the most appealing. Aside from the excellent scoring rate, he is also looks quite adaptable especially to the Premier League. Belgium internationals have done a great job at embracing English football which is something not many can do. With this 22-year-old, Arsenal should not need that much acclimatisation time as he is strong, fast and efficient. He does not look prone to injury and he has the physique to handle defenders like Cahill or Kompany. The only problem is that Marseille are very likely to wait for Euro 2016 to sell. As it usually happens during continental competitions, transfers get delayed mostly in order to increase the players’ price. Arsenal will probably have to wait and see how Belgium does in the European Championship before actually getting the chance to open negotiations. It`s not ideal but as long as Wenger signs this brilliant striker, fans will be happy.

According to ESPN, there is one more player who could meet all of Arsenal’s attacking needs and that is Mauro Icardi. The former Barcelona youngster who now at just 23, has been appointed Inter’s captain could be tempted to join the Gunners in order to play in the Champions League. Inter is not what it used to be and looking at their current lot, they will have trouble getting to the Champions League next season as well. Icardi is under contract until 2019 but a proper bid could tempt the striker to leave Milano who don’t seem very eager to invest this summer
