New Zealand’s Winston Reid made it clear that his next destination will be Emirates Stadium. The 26 year old who has been scouted by Wenger’s people for a while now has finally admitted to being interested in joining Arsenal this winter. He was one of the North Londoners’ priorities even since the transfer window opened. Arsenal also publically confirmed their interest for West Ham’s defender who is no longer in favour with his current team’s management. The player refused a contract renewal and has been sidelined for the next couple of games it seems.

The center-back who according to the Mirror, will be overpriced by West Ham just to be forced to stay with the club, is not on good terms with Allardyce. Despite the manager’s explanations regarding the fact that Reid was set aside and replaced during the last games, it is still obvious that not signing a new contract is costing the 26 year old his spot in the team. The Gunners are expected to make a £4-5million offer for the New Zeeland international who will probably cost twice as much if rumors are true. What is even worse for Wenger is that West Ham are having real trouble in finding a decent replacement which will complicate things a lot. One more thing that could come between Reid and Arsenal is the bigger transfer budget Tottenham seem to have. They are also interested in bringing in the center-back.
