Apparently Arsenal are the only Premier League team interested in signing Mats Hummels who have a realistic chance of signing him. After rumors had it that the German International will be moving to England sometime soon, great news arrived at the Emirates. According to the Daily Star, Manchester United have pulled out of the race and are trying to sign Ezequiel Garay from Zenit which leaves Wenger the only manager close to making a deal with Dortmund. Hummels’s contract is set to expire in 2017 which means it is not just up to the player to decide if he will leave or not. Dortmund are known for selling their most important players over the years. The 25 year old World Champion is among the few footballers left out of the team that made it to the Champions League final. Add to that the fact that Dortmund is having a disastrous season and Arsenal might really have a chance of bringing in the world class defender.

Signing Hummels would really be a massive success for Arsenal who desperately need some reinforcements in the defensive department. Even though the center back is valued at about £30million, he is definitely worth all of that. He is one of the most effective defenders currently playing in Europe and he is also still young. He has all the experience he needs to make it in the Premier League and has all the physical attributes as well. Hopefully Wenger will manage to convince both the player and Borussia to reach an agreement with Arsenal.
