Arsenal have started their transfer negotiations early this season. Apparently, some of the targets Wenger plans on trying to sign will be available for free during the summer. According to Metro, Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph is the first in line to start negotiations with the North Londoners. With his contract set on reaching its deadline at the end of the season, Wenger has already started laying the ground-work for the 24 year old’s arrival. The English international is also being targeted by Everton who plan on reaching an agreement with the midfielder months before his contract actually expires.

The fact that Arsenal are currently facing a lot of problems when it comes to finding the perfect formula for creating a strong midfield section, could mean that Wenger will try making an offer in January. Even though Delph’s contract will end in June, the Gunners might need him earlier than that. Seen as one of the most efficient defensive midfielders who will be available during the summer, Delph might just be a great solution for replacing Flamini who has had a poor season up until now. With Arteta and Ramsey once again having to deal with recurring health issues, Villa’s player could be just the man to help Arsenal avoid struggling to maintain a competitive squad. Delph has been playing for Villa for 5 years now. He has made 90 Premier League appearances and scored three goals. He just got called to represent his country this year for which he has made 2 appearances and shown that he belongs at world level.
