After signing Ozil from Real and Sanchez from Barcelona, Wenger is trying to get one other world-class player to join his ranks. Spanish international Asier Ilarramendi, who has been impressing the audiences over the past two years, is currently one of Arsenal’s main targets probably for this year entirely. The 24 year old center midfielder who is under contract until 2019 could be tempted by the chance of becoming a team regular. Even though he is one of the best players in Spain when it comes to his position, he is still finding it very hard to actually become part of the starting eleven. Having to compete with Modric or Khedira who both have a lot more experience made things difficult for the former Real Sociedad man who in two years since joining Real, has doubled in value.

According to Metro, Illarramendi, is ready to cut his relationship with Real Madrid and move to a club where he is offered more chances to actually play. Arsenal are rumored to already have made a whopping £24million offer which is very likely to be more than appealing to both real and the midfielder. It is also very likely that if the Spaniards are satisfied with Wenger’s proposal, Illarramendi will be on his way to North London by the end of this month. Hopefully bringing in Paulista and Illarramendi will be enough to fill in the gaps Arsenal are having to handle right now considering the fact that the reported transfer budget is reaching its limit.
