Arsenal Pounce On Pedro Uncertainty At Barcelona

Arsenal are ready to pounce on rumours emerging in Spain regarding Pedro handing in a transfer request at Barcelona after being unhappy about the lack of first team opportunities under manager Luis Enrique, according to Metro.

Pedro’s career started at a local Spanish club San Isidro in 2003, where the player joined as a youth academy trainee. In just a matter of a year, the attacker established his name at the club, and the scouts at Barcelona signed up the then teenager. After one season in the the club’s world famous academy, Pedro was promoted to the Barcelona C team, where he played 2 seasons before being moved again to the Barcelona B team. In 2009, the big moment arrived when he was called for the full senior squad, and he has not looked back since. His most successful time at the club came with Pep Guardiola, and the 27-year old also earned a spot in the Spanish national side thanks to his impressive performances for the Catalans. The attacker has hardly featured under Enrique, and has been rumoured to be unhappy with his position in the pecking order. With Luis Suarez also joining the squad, Pedro’s time in the first team could be considerably cut short.

The transfer fee Arsenal is expected to be enough to try to secure his services is in the range of £25 million, and a deal could be concluded in January.
