Wenger is looking to make a statement this season by investing more than the club has ever invested in transfers. This summer, no one expected to see the Frenchman so active on the market, but things seem to have changed a bit. The club and most importantly, the investors are giving Wenger the support needed to fill in the squad gaps which are mostly visible when injuries affect several players at once. While bringing in Mustafi and Xhaka seem to be true achievements, Holding and Perez still have a lot to prove. Unfortunately, the Spanish striker has yet to adapt and has clearly dropped in form compared to his time spent playing for La Coruna. The Premier League is a tough place to be especially towards the latter part of your career. Perez is 28 and his style is already adapted to Spanish football and there is a chance he will not peak while at the Emirates. With that in mind and also with the fact that Welbeck has been mostly injured in recent times, Wenger is entitled to still be on the lookout for potential talent up front.

According to Metro there is a very big chance Arsenal will try to sign FC Porto striker Andre Silva. While the youngster does not represent an immediate solution for the attack, he does represent the future. Just as Martial, this 20-year-old Portuguese international is showing amazing potential. He just netted his first hat-trick for Portugal and showed amazing striker instincts. He showed maturity and most importantly, he showed consistency. He has been the man with the goal for every youth team and is now a team regular for Porto which are still Portugal’s number one team. Even if Silva’s goals were not that impressive, it is still something to play next to Ronaldo and have such courage and intuition so as to be at the right time and at the right place for a whole game.

Hopefully, him being linked to Arsenal is not just a rumor and negotiations will start as soon as possible. He is under contract until 2021 but he might jump at the chance of playing in the Premier League from such a young age. Even if he is sent on loan, it is still a big difference between the UK and any other championship in Europe. Porto are known to sell their talent so if the player does decide to start negotiations, his current club should not pose any impediment.
