Arsenal Passed Up The Chance To Sign Falcao!

French big spenders Monaco were willing to release their highly-sought after striker Falcao on a season-long loan deal for a £10 million loan fee. The buying club would also have to pay his wages, which are currently astronomically high at £200,000-a-week wages.

Arsenal were made aware of the availability of Falcao in the last 48 hours and were initially keen to do business since forward Olivier Giroud has been ruled out for the rest of the year with a broken ankle. However, the north London side chose not to go ahead with the deal due to Falcao’s excessive wage demands, according to Metro.

Instead, Manchester United have swooped in and signed the player for an initial loan fee of £6 million, excluding his £200,000-a-week wages. They also have the option to make it permanent for a fee reported to be in the region of £50 million.
