Leaving Arsenal looked like a good move especially with the tense situation at the Emirates. The striker repeatedly criticized the club’s way of handling the choices made for the starting eleven and was disappointed with the fact that Wenger did not use him more. Apparently the Frenchman was on to something as Podolski has failed to be picked as a top contender for Inter’s attacking line.

It will be a strange come-back for Podolski who made his loan deal look like a permanent move. Not once mentioning a possible return, the German looked certain that his days on Emirates are numbered. Most expected to see the World Cup winner explode after joining Inter. He was confident that he could jumpstart his career but ended up knowing that he will return to London. Italy did not help the 29 year old who is now probably trying to find a new destination for the next couple of seasons.

The best option for Podolski will probably be to return to the Bundesliga where he was at the top of his form. Hopefully he will find a team to make a tempting offer that Wenger will consider.
