Arsenal Must Spend Big For Defensive Midfielder

Arsenal have been told that they will need to prepare a big bid in order to begin negotiations for defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, after his club Dinamo Zagreb have underlined their unwillingness to sell key players unless a ‘memorable bid’ comes around, according to the Daily Star.

Brozovic began his career in his native Croatia at local club Hrvatski Dragovoljac where he was signed as youth player. After years of development, the midfielder signed a professional contract and represented the club 22 times in the league, scoring one goal. But his time at the club lasted just one season, and the player moved to Lokomotiva where he played 33 games and scored 5 goals in the process. Then in 2012, it was Dinamo who showed concrete interest in the 22-year old, who made the move and established his place in the starting lineup.

It remains to be seen if Wenger pursues Brozovic or goes after Carvalho from Portugual.
