Arsenal seem to have found the perfect player for keeping together the middle section of the pitch. Francis Coquelin has impressed since returning to the Emirates and will be given the chance to become a member of the starting eleven. According to Metro, the French international is expected to receive a new contract that will extend his stay in London. With his contract set to expire this summer, the Gunners need to keep him. After failing to bring in any reinforcements, Wenger seems to have struck gold with the 23 year old who looked like he has been playing for Arsenal for years now during his last match against City.

Not only can Coquelin be Arsenal’s new Gilberto Silva but he will also have the opportunity to save Wenger a lot of trouble. The Frenchman has failed to sign any of his targets who were supposed to help the midfield. Most of Arsenal’s legends support the 23 year old and look rather keen to see him play rather than seeing Wenger bring in a new player. It remains to be seen what will happen before the end of the transfer window. Gundogan and Bender are still possible transfers even though it would be more economical and most importantly better for the team to focus on Coquelin.
