Arsenal Makes Fans Wonder What Could Have Been

Not sure if Arsenal fans should feel happiness or sorrow after seeing their favorite team play at a level which would surely get them on top of any competition. The Gunners were brilliant at least for 45 minutes in which any team no matter the name, would have had serious trouble keeping Walcott and Wilshere from scoring. It is typical of Arsenal to have almost all their main players recovered when things matter less. Why couldn’t Walcott, Wilshere, Ozil, Cazorla and all the others perform the same way during the Champions League games or during those games against Chelsea, Man. United and Tottenham? Another season goes by and you cannot help thinking what if Arsenal had all their main men available and fit during key moments?

One can only find happiness in the fact that this lot will stay together for next season and may be find a way to finally solve the injury problem. A few transfers and an overhaul of the medical staff could do the trick. The first part should be taken care of by Wenger who seems to have a lot planned for the transfer window. Hopefully he will manage to keep Walcott at Emirates as well, especially after what he did against WBA. Three goals after being away for so long is something to consider. According to ESPN The England international is out of contract next year but if he continues doing so well this summer a new deal must be agreed upon. One other thing that the game against WBA taught us is that Ospina is not made out of the same material as Cech, Courtois or De Gea. He perhaps lacks the quality needed by players who win big trophies. Fortunately one of them will be available to Arsenal who need to act fast and secure Cech’s signature.
