Arsenal Make First Signing Of A 17 Year Old

Arsenal have signed their first player of the January transfer window, after Krystian Bielik was announced to have put pen to paper on a professional contract at the club after talks between Arsenal, Legia Warsaw and the player’s representatives came to fruition, according to Metro.

The Gunners have been looking to sign several players in the January window, and have drawn up certain realistic targets for the remainder of the window. However, with the January window, selling clubs have to arrange for a replacement signing of their own if they are to sell their best players, and hence the deals have been few and far between so far among the big clubs. The selling clubs also demand an inflated figure from the buying club, making it almost impossible to do a deal. But transfer deadline day will bring a whole new equation to the table, as selling clubs break at the temptation of receiving huge transfer fees for their players which could help the club acquire more than one player in return. Arsenal have been unsuccessful in signing any senior players to the anguish of the supporters, but have signed another potential star in Bielik.

Bielik was born in Poland and plays in the defensive midfield position for Legia Warsaw, a club where he signed his first professional deal after representing Lech Poznan at youth level. After making just 5 appearances for Legia, the 17-year old Polish prospect has become Arsenal’s first signing.
