Arsenal Interested In Signing Andre-Pierre Gignac

Arsenal are looking to make a move for Andre-Pierre Gignac after Marseille failed to extend his contract. With the current financial issues effecting the French side, a new club is bound to take advantage of the situation. Wenger is looking to finally snatch one of his favorite players as he repeatedly declared in a series of statements. According to TalkSport, The Gunners are not the only ones interested in the Frenchman’s services. Liverpool are also targeting the 28 year old who could replace Balotelli. Gignac is in great shape, managing to score in almost every game this season. Chances that he will stay in France have dropped considerably after the scandal which is effecting the club’s management.

Even though Wenger is not that desperate to sign a striker, he might want to take advantage of such a unique opportunity. Gignac has a lot to offer and could help Arsenal in their chase for glory. It is unfortunate though that the money is tight right now at the Emirates. With the Londoners lining up for a massive transfer which will cost them close to double what they paid this summer for their defenders, Gignac might be joining Liverpool. Hummels is now Wenger’s number one target which sounds about right considering the big defensive problems the Frenchman is faced with since injuries have decimated the center backs. The only way Gignac could end up at the Emirates is if cheaper solutions are found for filling in the empty spots currently affecting the Gunners’ squad.
