Arsenal Interested In Benfica’s Rodrigo Moreno

The Brazilian-born Spain U23 international, Rodrigo Moreno has looked great this season. Even though he is not among Europe’s most high-profile strikers, he still looks like a great catch. Rodrigo who spent his youth playing for Real Madrid is uncertain of his future with Benfica. The Portuguese side who are now leading the Portuguese league might not be able to keep their striker for another season as the Premier League seems much more appealing.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are not the only ones interested in signing the 23 year old. Liverpool are also circling Rodrigo who is currently owned by a private investment company. Fortunately for the Gunners, who are in desperate need of a striker, the Reds’ interest in Rodrigo could just be a rumor as it is hard to believe Suarez and Sturridge will leave Anfield. With the two still under contract for a long time, it is close to impossible for the Spanish U23 international to make the starting eleven. On the other hand, Arsenal would probably offer Rodrigo a lot of chances to perform in the best league in all the world. With Bendtner likely moving on at the end of the season, Giroud will surely need some help scoring.

Rodrigo is currently valued at about £10 million pounds which is not that much for a player who is under contract until 2019. The 23 year old is still a bit of a wildcard as his performances varied when on loan with Bolton previously, even though he was a lot younger and Premier League football proved a bit too much for him at that time.
