Arsenal Could Be Without Wilshere For 3 Months!

The 22-year-old Wilshere had finally found some decent form after looking to be behind his injury problems which have dogged him for the last few years. However, the talented attacker could be out for three months with possible ankle ligament surgery sustained against the Red Devils, according to The Guardian.

Wilshere is expected to meet a specialist in the coming days to determine whether an operation is required on his left ankle. Even if he won’t be operated upon, the English international is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks.

Wenger admitted that it does not ‘look good’ for Wilshere who suffered a tackle from behind from Paddy McNair. Although he admitted it was a bad tackle from the United defender, he did not feel McNair went with the intention of hurting Wilshere.

Wenger said, “I don’t think it was a tackle with the desire to hurt, I think he went for the ball but it was a late tackle, a tackle which a young player can do. It was a bad foul.”

“The tackle caught him from the side, just when Jack had moved the ball forwards too much. When he dived to make the pass, McNair came in to make the tackle and took him from the back and the side. When you see the picture, it is very bad. There is no bone damage; we knew that straightaway after the game but there is ligament damage. It does not look good.”

Arsenal have way too many injury problems and the blow for Wilshere will add further salt to Wenger’s injury wounds.
