Arsenal have a great chance to sign Khedira for free at the end of this season. Despite insisting he will stay at Bernabeu back in the summer when he was negotiating with Real Madrid things took a different turn. The World Cup winner will be leaving and will even drop some of his financial demands to play in the UK. It was rumored that he might return to Germany where Schalke and Bayern showed some interest in the 27 year old. According to Talk Sport, neither Bayern nor Schalke are willing to pay Khedira the salary he has been speculated to negotiate with Arsenal.

Khedira has been on Wenger’s list for a long time and was seen as the perfect addition to the team. With few players of his quality available and with even fewer players performing in his position who are free to transfer, this deal looks mandatory for the Gunners. The German would surely boost the efficiency of the defense and would help players like Ozil, Ramsey and Wilshere perform a lot better by allowing them to focus more on their offensive duties. Fabregas is a great example of what can happen with footballers like Hazard when their sole focus is to do their job and not think about defending. It has been speculated that Khedira is asking for £90.000-a-week which is less than what Walcott is making right now. If rumors are true and the winger does decide to leave, Arsenal should definitely reroute that money towards Khedira.
