Arsenal Agree To Transfer Terms With Galatasaray

Lukas Podolski who joined Arsenal in 2012 is probably better off joining the Turkish side as his relationship with the club and especially with Wenger was not looking great. After repeatedly criticizing the Frenchman for his choices when it comes to picking the starting eleven and after acting like his departure for Italy was going to be permanent, there was little to no chance of turning back. According to Galata’s official website, the 30 year old is no longer with Arsenal and will be joining the Turkish side where he will be playing alongside Wesley Sneijder.

Arsenal’s now former left winger has had trouble accommodating to Premier League football even since moving to London. Despite being a really hard worker and trying to stay positive, he never impressed for some reason. This is exactly what happened while he played for Bayern where the situation developed in a similar way. While in London, the World Cup winner found the net 31 times and provided 17 assists which averages at about a goal every three games.

Podolski’s departure might point to something positive though. Wenger could finally start bidding for a world class left winger to balance out the attack considering the fact that Sanchez is doing most of the work. The biggest problem will be actually finding a LW good enough to reach the same quality level as the other part of the pitch where players like Walcott, Sanchez, Bellerin or Debuchy can handle any type of adversary. There is only a handful of people who will be difficult to sign. The list may include Draxler, Lavezzi, Felipe Anderson or even Marco Reus.

Which left winger do you think could actually end up at Emirates this Summer?
